I accepted this challenge today, trying to impress a lady.

It worked.

I love those signs. Challenge accepted, indeed. I have one I drive on fairly regularly and it is in the middle of nowhere. You can see clearly ahead for a long way. It says 40 mph. but if you apex it correctly, it is a 65 mph curve even in my pickup truck.

If I hit the apex at less than twice the advisory speed, I feel as though I have failed somehow.

Indeed. When I had my '04 Cooper S it was almost if the car would say..."Pshhh exit speed 40? How bout 70?" My Mazda 3 loves the twisties as well but nothing ate up apexes for the monet like that Mini.

Half the speed limit added to the speed limit equals 7/10ths spirited driving. Been doing this for a very, very long time and have yet to find the exception.

Edit: Okay...maybe creeping on 8/10ths.

Unless you made a sweet e-brake turn somewhere in impressing said lady, I call BS.

As my e-brake stopped working (cheap american car problems) I can't do that anymore.

and she was impressed that I can actually handle a car I built on my own so well, told me she's never seen someone actually able to control a car without issue.

I have impressed the ladies with a handbrake turn before.

The other issue is I don't want to risk my seats getting wet..Don't need the stains, you know?

That is a job-related risk; thankfully my days of needing to impress the ladies are over.

I was going to impress a lady with that trick, but she threatened to vomit on my carpet.

I can not reveal my cars Identity.

I will say this much, my car has insane handling.

And many ladies have said something along the lines of "You actually know how to handle a car"

One girl said its the sexiest thing, cause I can drive my car, I know the power, I know what to do to get it through a corner without incident.

my pet peeve is getting stuck behind somebody who goes through a curve slower than the posted speed.
