Spent Sunday/Monday at the track. It was one of those events where the weather looks like it's probably going to be terrible and then ends up being awesome.

It's always surprising how quickly the paddock empties out toward the end of the event. My final session only had a handful of cars in it. You become so accustomed to the track being so busy and loud and the atmosphere so vibrant that after the last session of the last day the quiet is almost startling.

If you're one of the lucky people who are not in a huge hurry to get home there's nothing like cracking a beer (any oktoberfest variety will work this time of year), taking one last sit in the old camping chair and watching the sunset. All good things must come to an end, but there's no need to rush it.

I always skip the last session of the day not to leave early, but because the last session is always the one where I push too hard and I never want my day to end in tears!

Just got back as well, and after a rain-drenched night, the weather on Monday could not have been better!

I am not generally a superstitious person but I can't help being a little bit antsy about the final session of the event. I just tell myself not to try anything new, not to push as hard as I've been pushing and just to come in early if I'm not having fun or find myself doing dumb things (even small things) that are out of character. It's so easy to misjudge your level of exhaustion.

I did skip my last session at the event I attended in August, but I'm glad I stayed for it yesterday. I had a blast.

Haha thanks. I too had that feeling - that's why I had to buy one =) Can't recommend it highly enough. I don't know if I'll ever sell it.
