After spending most of this 'Columbus Day Holiday' running errands and wasting some time inside of doors, I decided it was time to get out and take advantage of the sunny weather. I mounted up on the VFR for some G-force therapy.

I usually head out in one direction and back, but today I linked together part of my NW route with part of my NE route for a 54 mile workout that included sweeping ribbons of two-lane, technical chicanes, and beautiful tree lined creek-following roads. If you live in the area, I highly suggest you explore this route. There are several places along (or near) the route to pause for sustenance and/or potty breaks. The start/end point for this ride is at one of my favorite local calorie binge locations - The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

You may notice that there are two roads named 'Creek Road' on the east side of the route - route 100 and route 82. Route 100 follows the Brandywine River - an incredible thing of beauty. Route 82 follows the Red Clay creek in a tight valley peppered with amazing estates - including the Dupont family !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

If you're a local, you can reference !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to plan you next ride/drive.

Incredible landscape out there in southern Chester County.

I have collected more bugs during summer rides, but aren't the bugs supposed to be gone by now ? It's mid-October, forcryingoutloud. Several hundred bugs sacrificed themselves on the front of the VFR and me. The ride was worth every bug life...

Great bike. I had a 2002, but always liked the non-VTEC motor on the earlier model. That V4 with Erion pipes always got my juices flowing in the morning.

I am shopping for a new bike, but will not likely part with the VFR... It's just too good. The V4 with a proper pipe sounds delightful , especially with the gear-driven cams.

I had a sport bike for a while, then decided to "slow down" and switch to the VFR. Ended up taking it to a track day and was dragging the pegs all over when I was offered a ride on a 2006 R6. Sold the VFR two weeks later and bought a new R6. Wish I could have justified both, just making the R6 my track bike, since I couldn't ride the thing more than two hours at a stretch.

Selling my 1997 VFR750 was truly one of the biggest mistakes of my life. The noises that V4 made was like Optimus Prime making sweet sweet love to a UFO.
