Late 60s-early 70s Trans-Am was awesome.

I live in York PA (not far from Reading PA) and the owner of our neighborhood Sunoco station must have bought one of Roger Penske's old Trans Am Camaros.
He had it parked in a side bay of the service station and every once and awhile, he'd take it out for drive and I was lucky enough to catch a ride. He had installed a second bucket seat and belts......I was about 12 years old at the time and I never asked my parents for permission.
Not sure if I was more scared of getting caught or more scared of the car. I have no idea what motor was in the car or how fast we went, all I can remember is how brutal the acceleration was.
You could hear it for blocks.....I'm sure it was completely illegal to do so, but that was back in the early 70's.
