But in the good old USDM, you have to settle for a diesel engine in place of the SC'd one.

AWD would help. I nearly died in a RWD Previa once. That van was very skittsh if the road surface was not dry.

I imagine that the parts for all models bolt right up. If you reeeeeally wanna put a stick in your bug van, you can have it so long as you're willing to get your hands dirty. I imagine you could even shove a boxer under there if you wanted. I mean, if an LS would fit...

It doesn't take much to almost die in a Previa. Skinny tires, RWD, sitting so close to the front bumper, lack of ABS in some, yeah I've been there at least twice.

I had a Previa. They had a RWD variation of it??? I don't remember that.
EDIT: Just realized that MY Previa was RWD. That explains that time I flew off the road almost into a ditch. HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS?!

LOL you almost died too! As far as I know it was the only RWD minivan around. Worked great on dry roads. Total deathtrap if there was any snow or ice on the road. The super long wheelbase and lack light front end made it nutty on bad surfaces. The one my parents had probably didn't have any traction control either as it was an early one. The Previa was one of the only examples of RWD being bad.

Mine didn't have traction control. Or ABS.
Now I miss the Previa even more. I love that car.

All Previas were MR with Rear or AWD. They made a platform change when they replaced it with the Sienna in the states. The Previa name lives on, but the MR layout is, unfortunately, gone-baby-gone.

Haha I do kind of miss ours too. It was the same exact color as the one in this pic.

LOL we had parallel upbringings.
Have you also owned various MT bimmers from the 80s and 90s?

Only one MT Bimmer from '01.
You're almost psychic.

You got so lucky. My sister has an 01 with the dreaded AT from hell. It failed way earlier than it should have. Good thing you had the MT and didn't have to worry about it!

No, the supercharged, petrol one was not available with the manual transmission. Diesel is still cool, but not as performance-oriented, hence the "settle" part.
