This is my second post about this bullshit.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Sooooo in March I bought a WRX rally car experience on livingsocial. Read my first post and the replies as some of you have had the same experience. So I just checked the Summit Point site and their event has been cancelled for the weekend. This has turned me off to all track day experiences so I guess I will just have to build my own car and take it so I don't have someone sell me tickets to an event they never planned to host.

I am beyond pissed right now. Can't think. You can see right on the Summit Point site they say the RacingBox event is cancelled.

Once I collect myself I am going to light up RacingBox's email.

Here is their site !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Make sure you skip all these events so you don't fall victim to their scheme.Right on Summit's site "Please contact Racing Box @ 917-677-2114, e-mail: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , or !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! with any questions or comments."

I haven't bothered using groupon / livingsocial / cheapocrap.com for any motorsports activities because I've maintained a track-able car and more recently bike as well for a few years now. But, the stuff I have bought through such services has always been... 'you get what you pay for'.

Further, a friend had done one of the exotic car things and said it was a bunch of slow traffic on a race track with a very nice car, so a pretty reduced version of the full experience.

The answer, as for so many questions around here, is v6 mustang / v6 camaro / miata / toyobaru / cheapo beater + autocross (most affordable version, especially true if your autocross car is not an everyday transportation necessity). Add gas, oil, possibly tires, shred and repeat. Also take photos / video and share here. Don't let this turn you off track stuff overall because I think you'll find your on-road hooning becomes much more subdued and low-risk when you get it out of your system this way.

Oh yea. I mean the whole buying a track day experience I will never do again. Unless the actual track is hosting it. Like Friday at the Track at Summit.

I will begin building a track car in the next year or so. I don't on road hoon at all anyways. I do get the itch after I watch a race on TV tho haha.

Don't waste more of your time. Just issue a chargeback on whatever card you paid for it with.

Unfortunately it's past the time limit for a chargeback. I paid for the event back in March. Thanks to all the scheduling problems and such it is past the 6 month deadline for charge backs. I think that's part of the scam, they make dates for the events after the livingsocial refund period and then just keep pushing people back so they can't do a charge back either.

I've sent emails to livingsocial and racing box again.. I don't expect to hear anything back. It looks like I'm out a couple hundred bucks :(

Have you double-checked the chargeback conditions? Usually it's six months from the date you discover you were ripped-off, not from the purchase.
