I really hate pointless cross-promotion like this. It makes me want to give as little of my money to either party as possible.
It's fine when it's something like a car maker using something else in its ads, like "When the zombies come... you'll be glad Hyundais are built to last" or something like that.
It's when it turns into "Tune into The Walking dead, brought to you by Hyundai!" that I get irritated. TV should not be like NASCAR.
The most egregious example was CoD: Black Ops, with the random fucking 2010 Wrangler in the middle of the Vietnam war, with very overt "Yeah, this new Jeep Wrangler Black Ops edition is built like a tank" dialogue.
I don't even care with things like Transformers, where all the hero characters are GM products. For the most part, it doesn't really get in the way of the movie itself, because the actors don't spend every fourth scene breaking character to talk about the virtues of the Chevy Aveo.
Arrrrrrrrghghhh.
