First of all I want to say that I'm huge fan of GMG and everything they touch, including this kickass F40, but I just have to say;
Holy moley! , that's a lot of markup! How much was it Richard sold it to Dennis for now again? $800,000 you say? So wait! that makes it something like a 50% markup for no reason whatsoever!?

Crack pipe, Who in there right mind would pay 1.2mil for a frickin F40 with a frickin rebuilt title?!?!?

I'm surprised they don't provide performance numbers or build process details. "Dyno tuned" and "Track tested" doesn't mean much if you can't prove it/show the numbers to back it up.

Hasn't this one been wrecked too? So 1.2 mill for an f40 with a rebuilt title?
Edit: Just saw that yes indeed it is rebuilt.

$1.2 is asking price, so it's probably more likely to go for $1mil, got to give yourself some room to move.
Richard knew the car was worth more, but when you need the cash now after a 300k+ investment, there's no choice. Dennis was playing the long game from the start and can clearly afford to sit on the investment. Plus he gets to own an F40 for a while. I'm sure he's not rushing to sell it, will wait for the right offer.

Didn't even notice that! How incredibly stupid of them! ...Okay it's probably faster than a stock F40, of that we can be pretty certain. But it sure would have been nice to know exactly how much faster it is than a stock F40.

At least if it was totally stock and had never been in an accident it *might* make sense to buy it for that price and hold it for 20 years (if you had the money to do that sort of thing). But yeah this one will never sell at an auction for big money. Billionaires want cars that are bone stock.

Changed the post to add the rebuilt title remark.

The good people of Dubai would beg to differ with the bone stock assertion.

Indeed, didn't even think about that. Say that it lands somewhere around $1M as you suggested, and I'd guess it would be an "okay" price, as Richard was planning on selling it for $900,000 from the begging.

The whole ad is seriously poorly done. It's a 1.2 million dollar car, you'd think they could pay any university student $1000 to design a decent website and ad.

LOL that's true. You could probably buy this car then list it for sale in Dubai and get at least 5 times what you paid for it. They have so much money there that they just just want whatever toys look fun.

Yeah I'm kinda thinking that he really isn't intending on selling the car anytime soon. This is probably just some quickly thrown together ad with a high asking price of what it would take him to let the car go today. He'll probably lower it significantly when he really wants to get rid of it.

It's not just an F40 in that instance, it's a one off F40 that's been on television and seen by lots and lots of people. Thats exclusivity and recognition that's well worth any price, if you're that kind of plutocrat.

You don't need to 'sell' that car. Once it's on the market, and that kind of information will get out quickly (it made it to oppo), you either want it or you don't. Serious buyers arn't going to be put off by a crappy ad, it's not like buying a Mustang from autotrader, where you can just go find another just like it if the seller looks shady or unprofessional.

Yeah, all $1.2 Million of my money is going to go to an unmolested example of an F40.

And once you're tired of it you can leave it in some parking lot to get destroyed by sandstorms. That way nobody else gets to enjoy it. Which I guess gives you joy, if you're that kind of plutocrat...

As much as I love the F40, no. This car would be so awesome if I didn't appreciate how amazing the F40 was stock. The F40 was a car that was made in a way that you didn't need to mess with it, it was perfect the way it was. Just what you need and nothing you don't. I know this car was wrecked, so it's nice that they breathed new life into it, but some things they did to it, I couldn't get behind. The black paint isn't my favorite, but what really bothers me is that headlight stuff they did. That doesn't even have anything to do with the car, it's just tasteless and 1.2 million is too much for this car (in my opinion) after the modifications they made. I'd rather pay less for an unmolested F40... But I know how GMG is and they don't really care about what people think of their work, its not for everyone. it's love it or hate it, buy it or leave it, and that's why I like pretty much everything else they've done. I just honestly don't think super rare, iconic supercars are they're flavor of automobile and I hope they stick to American muscle from here on out. But hey, that's my opinion, and if someone else likes it then they can buy it, no one is right or wrong.

Well put opinion! For me this would be a ''like it and leave it''. Since I'm generally not too interested in the supercar game, too many people not daring to niether use or wrench on their own cars.

It's either an original F40 or 10 575s.

If I'm paying that much for a F40, it better damn well be red.
The rims are nice though...

I know I'm a heretic, but I like it. I don't like it $1.2MM worth, but I also don't like it $300K worth either. I have very few moneys right now.

They shouldn't have advertised what they spent on it before selling it. I wonder if they're trying to cash in on their celebrity here. Thinking that people love this show (how many are millionaires? remains to be seen) so they will pay extra for a car that is kissed by GMG.
I am a fan of GMG, but I don't know that I would buy this car if I had the funds.

The whole episode was a complete farce.
Note how Richard kept saying in the beginning "This is a million dollar car........we need to have all genuine Ferrari Parts.....Ferrari certification........blah blah blah...." And they go on and modify things, don't get the certification, repaint it, do hackjobs in some areas, and then "script" the ending to make it look like they got off smelling roses.
I would pay 1.2 Million....Pesos.

You do realize they fucked up an old Aston Martin?
![]() 10/18/2013 at 17:49 |

No, I haven't seen that episode or heard about that... Yeah, they should probably stick to American cars, those are generally the cars that are supposed to be modified and customized more than rare exotics that are usually preferred stock or very close to their original, factory condition.
