Sorry caddy, but your warmed over redesigned volt coupe is not worth almost $80k. Even a diehard tree hugger with cash has to admit that the Model S is the better deal. The El Miraj is worth that perhaps. But not this.

I like the Volt and ELR and fully agree. They should have released the Volt as a Cadillac to begin with and charged $50k for it.

Should have stuck the volt's guts into an ATS coupe and called it the ATS-Green. $50k. Problem solved.

The Escalade is having problems as far as sales go and that thing is about the same price.

The Leather wrapped Tahoe starts at $63k , and only approaches $80k after being optioned out. That falls right it line with the GL Class , The X50i and the Q7 , which are it's competitors.

You're right about the sales though. Escalade sales are about half of what they used to be a decade ago . But we didn't have a collapsed (but recovering) economy and housing market with millions of college grads swimming in debt a decade ago as we do today. Things change. I suspect GM's outlook for the Tahoe caddy are considerably more humble now. If it wasn't, they would have just axed it, as they did with whole brands back in the bailout days.

I've seen Escalade Platinum Hybrids sell for north of $100k. I'll go in the lot on Monday and see what some of the prices are.
