Lies all lies. Or perhaps my German ancestry gibes me German skills?

It did look like a 9-something, didn't it?

I can, but the brutal traffic my hour drive forces me through makes it not worth the fun to me.

It's a Marathon .

It looks like the Annis emblem from the Grand Theft Auto series.

Is this a joke? I don't know anyone who cannot drive a manual; honestly, not one single person. I know people who don't regularly drive them but no one that is incapable.
![]() 10/10/2013 at 13:01 |

Yup. I can start tagging them.

Seriously? I know a lot of people who can't. It drives me nuts. From my seat right now, I could throw a baseball and hit at least 5 people who have never tried. Ever.

Where in the country are you?
![]() 10/10/2013 at 13:07 |
|
Where? The problem is wide spread, but I'm in the northeast.
Apparently it's falling out of favor not just in models offered, but also in drivers' ed classes. Most don't even teach it anymore

Just look at manual sales in the U.S. versus other countries.
![]() 10/10/2013 at 13:11 |

I'm not sure what manual sales have to do with ability to drive manual. You should read my comment again.
![]() 10/10/2013 at 13:11 |

Not to mention this has a lot to do with manufacturers not providing the option of a manual.
![]() 10/10/2013 at 13:12 |

...
What I was saying with my point is that Americans, in general, aren't really into manuals. That's the joke in the comic.

How old are you and the people you know?
I'm 24, I didn't learn from my parents. I essentially learned last year from a friend/test drives, now I own one. Many, many people in my generation have never driven a manual.
![]() 10/10/2013 at 13:15 |

you are arguing a point that has so much incontrovertible evidence to the contrary that it is futile to even argue with you unless you can come up with detailed statistics proving your point. Which I imagine you won't find. The simple fact that drivers ed doesn't teach people how to drive a manual says it all. That couple with the fact that probably something like 90+% of Americans will never own a manual says even more.

My father made me learn to drive in a truck with no power stearing and a manual transmission.

I'm not arguing anything so I'm not sure what you're really speaking to. I made a statement; calm down and please stop chugging the haterade.

Oh man did I spend a lot of time hunting for Marathon easter eggs in the Halo games.

I read somewhere that less than 10% of Americans can drive stick. Only people I know that can are all car enthusiasts, everybody else drives auto.
![]() 10/10/2013 at 13:56 |

I'm thinking the same. I learned stick in like, 10 minutes. While on a test drive. 100% german...as far as I know.

MARATHON!! I love those games, and didn't think anyone else really knew them.
![]() 10/10/2013 at 14:38 |

This is a sad reality, sorry Americans, but for every american who can drive stick, theirs probably 30 Europeans to match.
![]() 10/10/2013 at 14:44 |

I'll just leave this here. You can tell its american, because in germany this car didn't come with a manual.
![]() 10/10/2013 at 14:47 |

I know a shitton of people who can't drive a manual. My car friends all know how, but my non-car friends? Probably only about 40 percent are manual capable. Hell neither of my siblings know how to operate a clutch.

I came here to post that they got the interior on that 9-5 completely wrong. :D

We (all others who apply) should start a club for people who brought the manual upon themselves.

Yeah! We can have t-shirts!
