Got this over the last weekend for 7.99 reais, so it may have had something to do with my disappeareance as well.
While I'm not a big fan of gang warfare storylines, I'm really liking it so far. The best part? Driving. I was hoping it would be similar to the driving systems in the Driver series, and it did not disappoint. It's stunt driving, in the same vein as those 70's car chase flicks I love so much, at its almost best (Driver is, understandably, still a bit sharper in this area). It's a simple, no frills approach that still allows you to easily pull off all kinds of stunts during missions.
The worst part? The driving. Or rather, how it's underutilized. It's not as extreme as I'd thought, but the thick of the game's action is still supposed to happen on foot. Those stunts I mentioned above, awesome as they are, require a good dose of creativity to pull off, as the game insists on placing you on specific vehicles which may or may not be the most fun in a given situation (chasing ATVs with another ATV is only logical, but doing so in a bouncy Muscle Car is ten times more fun) or leaving you on foot to gun down an entire police force when a high speed chase down the interstate would be much better, at least in my humble opinion.

San Andreas is GTA at its arcade-y best. Just wait until you can throw some nitrous in a station wagon.
