Got to spend my birthday at the hospital. My 2yo son wanted to help mommy bake cupcakes and set his hand on a burner. Nice 2nd degree burns in a circular pattern on the palm of his hand and a few fingers.

I've got some pics, not going to share them though.

Expensive less from the school of life but at least he won't make the same mistake again.

If you don't mind me asking, in what capacity does a 2-year-old "help" bake cupcakes? New father asking.

hope your kiddo heals quick! I have a gas range, but my 2 and 4yo are both tall enough to reach over. One of my biggest fears is a stove accident

Oh, no! We tell them that it's hot, don't touch, but they usually have to find out themselves. Poor baby.

My niece fell while camping a few years ago when she was around 3 and put her hand right into the campfire. Had some discussion about skin grafts but ended up just letting it heal. Make sure you have him keep using the hand (opening and closing at least, not actually using) once it starts healing to make sure any scar tissue doesn't restrict its movement in the future.
