A Specialized Allez comp smartweld with a combination of christmas money and personal money. However before that I'm planning on buying a State Bicycle Co. Ranger (pictured after the jump) as a workout bike and also my "I don't want to bring my nice road bike there" bike. It also matched my Mini Cooper perfectly, so there's that I guess. So anyone have any experience with the high end Allezs?

My roommate has an Allez (he's been very happy with it over the 3 years he's had it) and I want to buy one for training and triathlon racing next summer.
Also, I have a Specialized mountain bike that works perfectly for me so take that as a vote of confidence in the brand/toward the Allez.

I have a Specialized trail bike. I've owned it for 5+ years and it's been used as a daily commuter (including in the snow), trail rider, mountain bike, and even dirt jumper without breaking a sweat. It's got Shimano parts so that must play a role but Specialized definitely gets a vote from me as well.

Yup. Solid ride, doesn't feel as organic as steel (that's more of a carbon fibre in general thing, though) but I love how they get up and go when you want to accelerate. Get a good set of Time or Crank Bros clips if you don't already have some, and you will have the time of your life riding it.

Get a bike for college they said. It'll be fun they said.
And you know what, they were right.
Although I think I may have misunderstood what they meant.
