Pretty sure redline is 15,000 RPM. Also I think they sound quite good.

They do sound good, but just, for me, an F1 car should scream at the top of its 18000 RPM lungs.

The aviation industry dabbled with turbo-compound engines, like 60 years ago. They soon decided trying to shove a reciprocating engine into an perfectly good gas turbine was dumb.
