Large grill top of very small sliver of a grill opening? Or the Worlds largest hood ornament ever?

Or tribute to the 1961 DeSoto?

Is that a 'shop? Please tell me it's something you just made. It just looks wrong.

It's awful. I don't understand how someone could have looked at that nose and thought, "Yeah! Put THAT on sale!"

Way better than the Hyundai, which looks all melty and stuff.
The '61 DeSoto wasn't elegant. It was fussy and garish. But it had character where the Hyundai is just a random collection of styling cues that have stuck themselves haphazardly to the body.

The fussy and garish part was intentional, since DeSoto's market segment was based on "Look at me - I'm almost a Chrysler!" (similar to Dodge: "Look at me - I'm flashier than a Plymouth!")

True. Fussy did = luxury back then.
Thing is, DeSoto had a wall-to-wall crosshatch lower grille and a separate mesh ovoid grille above it. That's what I meant by fussy. It was also the poor DeSoto's last year. Hernando's brand died at the hands of the Eisenhower Recession, a loss of brand identity after they dropped the grille teeth, and the bad quality of the '57s. The Chrysler Newport finally killed it off by '61 and Chrysler managed to screw dealers pretty royally once the end came.
Btw, I love your handle. And I love classic Imperials. Especially the '57-66 models. '60 is my least favorite. The '59, '62, and '66 are my top 3, in that order.
