The financial crisis was more like the Neighbors telling the family: "Oh, you want Pizza now? Well, all of the rest of us have been eating the best pizza available with no end in sight, and we just realized that the pizza places are going to have to raise their prices and delivery fees soon, enough that we won't be able to afford to get even a slice. So... good luck finding that Pizza! I'm getting the hell out of here!"
The neighbor then parachutes out and the local city hall has to find a way to keep the family from starving now.
