My buddy pointed his GoPro on me at last Sunday's autocross. Humbling.

My hand inputs are unbelievably not smooth.

I don't use the shoulder bolsters on the seat at all.

Instead I stress the hell out of the steering wheel.

Your seat sucks. It's a compromise between a full-on race seat and a street seat so that's understandable.

Your driving posture is bad because you don't recline upright enough and you have 3pt harnesses which don't let you stay in the seat. You'll be surprised how much better it is for you if you get proper restraints

Proper restraints will give you more confidence while restraining you better which will give you more control.

I know a guy at TC Kline. He can get you a good deal on a new Recaro Pole Position

You suck!

Seriously though, I'm not interested in putting a harness bar in the car, so I'll have to stick with the 3-pt.

Hand inputs weren't all that bad. Running auto-x is way different than lapping on a track where smoothness matters. Auto-x tracks often tight and technical to the point where if your driving looks smooth you're going too slow.

I agree with this.

Here's my "normal" view. Stuff like fighting my way around the sweeper at 0:34 is what I'd like to smooth out. That should be a single input / small corrections turn, not a omg let's shake the crap out of the wheel turn.

I'm defiitely not saying you're perfect and that there's no room for improvement, just that in auto-x hand inputs typically aren't smooth due to the nature of the course.

It looked like it was a damp surface in that video. Trying to drive on the limit in the damp never looks smooth, even when you're on a nice flowing race track...
