Can someone explain the newer BMWs to me? F80 is the 3, I think F35 is the 5...what are the rest?

F30 is the 3 series sedan, F32 is the 3 series couple. The 5 series is now on the F10 chassis.

To make it really confusing, this is the first time ever any M car will have it's own chassis code, hence F80 for the M3 sedan and F82 for the M4.

I miss the days when a M3 looked like a M3 and a M5, like a M5. But I guess a miniature M5 isn't a terrible thing.

I'd still rather have the M3 Cou.... er M4.

I think a mini-M5 would be fantastic... if it wasn't replacing another BMW M. Also I'd still get an RS4 instead. I just think the M3 and M5 have their places carved out, and should stay as what they are.

I really wish I could understand BMW's thinking lately. They still easily outsell Audi, I think they sell more than Mercedes, and have much greater motorsports heritage than Audi, so why are they trying to match and mold their product lines in imitation?

I agree. I've switched my preferences mostly to the Audi side, but still own a BMW so it kills me when they make cars that are severely handicapped. Or ugly.
