I don't put stickers on my cars. Haven't since my '84 Chevette which I could have cared less about. But I'm thinking about putting an "Oppo" and my recently earned "This car climbed Mount Washington" stickers on my Volt, just for the mindfuck of it.

I think I can put the Oppo sticker on the glass where it's easy to remove, and the Mt Washington sticker on the lower plastic under the back. Don't want it on the back glass as the car already has fairly limited vision out the back.

Thoughts? (picture above is not my car)

Yeah but your car didn't climb Mount Washington. It drove up a road specifically designed for motor vehicles. It wasn't hiking with a backpack or hanging off the mountain front by it's fingertips; it was puttering along up a windy road.

That's like having a sticker that says "I pooped this morning". I know you pooped this morning but do you really need to tell everyone? Sorry, I just don't see the point in those stickers :/

One or two tastefully placed is not a bad thing, or if your car has a theme you're going with.

I'll never put a sticker on a painted surface. On a window, perhaps.

I'm not a sticker person. I take the dealers sticker off my cars. I am going to make an exception for the Oppo and Jalopnik cause they are small.

I struggle with this as well. I like stickers, but hate seeing cars with stickers. When I get my Oppo stickers, I'll let you all decide if my stickers are tacky...

Yes on the Oppo, no on the mount washington.

I too have a strict "no sticker" policy for my vehicles. I go as far as telling the dealerships I purchase my vehicles from to remove their advertisement stickers and plaques.

In my younger days I enjoyed a few stickers here and there however. I think it's a taste thing. Some people really like to customize in that way. I say go for it if you like it!

Had them on my old car, but that thing was MadJdmYO. (lol this is the only picture where you can see them)

Kinja'd!!!

But I'm trying to keep my new car classy, all though I am debating getting a Oppo sticker.

Well that's certainly true, but it is a very steep road and most cars risk frying their transmissions on the way up and brakes on the way down, so it's like a badge of honor for the car/driver. Plus the Volt did it with such ease it was quite an enjoyable drive! (engine never turned on going up, and half-recharged the battery coming down)

I've hiked Mt Washington several times, a few in the winter with skis and boots in my pack, and I don't do stickers about that either... although I think that's worth a lot more bragging than driving up! But it is a unique experience.

Keep em on the inside. This is on the inside of a hippy friends caravan (black from the outside with the tint). Not a single bumper sticker on the exterior

I'm trying to get myself over my 'no stickers on cars' thing... or maybe I already have and I'm looking for affirmation somehow! My kids can't believe I haven't put the Mt Washington sticker on there already.

Well sure, I don't mean to take away from the experience but to me those stickers say "my car did car things". Race track stickers, however, would be amazing on a Volt :D

If you don't set the barrier really high to start with, you'll end up like the car in the picture. So yes to the Oppo sticker, but no to 'I climbed Mt Washington'.

Beer labels > Stickers. This is what I drive every day. Fuck the haters.

Kinja'd!!!

And no, there are no performance mods besides the coilovers. No exhaust or intake because it would sound like crap anyways. Just a bunch of beer labels on the front fenders and some blackout to the trim.

I usually see a Mt Washington sticker and think "I'm glad that's not my car. Have a transmission rebuild." So that's one reason I think it's neat - no excessive transmission wear or heat etc. I have some Moroso and AutoMeter stickers around that would be funny, I'm sure I could find a New England Dragway or Lebanon Valley sticker somewhere, but we all know that's just Poser stuff on the Volt. (although I should take it drag racing just for the fun of it. Feel like I have nothing to improve though, so there's not much reason to go...) Makes me chuckle for a minute but then brings me back to my original 'No stickers on cars' thing.

Drifting ... hit a curb and street sign sideways at roughly 40mph. I said MadJdmYo for a reason.

Worst day of my life was when I was forced to put a big ugly parking sticker on the rear window of my e39. Then I hated the way it looked with just one sticker in one corner, so I balanced it out with a California Highway Patrol sticker which ended up getting me out of 2 tickets. So if I'm forced to have stickers, I'm going to at least make them work for me.

But its your rig man. Do what makes you happy.

I really really wanted a "drive it like you stole it" sticker on my old Cherokee but never got around too it - makes you easily identifiable. The oppo and Jalopnik stickers on my window are small enough to go unnoticed.

Oh yeah. I hate parking stickers. If you must make me identify myself for your parking lot at least let me do a mirror hanging thing I can remove when not in use, or transfer to one of the 4 or 5 other things I might drive that day.

Truth be told, I bought those ten spokes used & they were a cheap brand all ready. I'm very happy bout that. Because if they didn't break I probably would of flipped the car & ended up going to the hospital.

I have track outlines, so they're more like a description of where I've pooped.

It's my way of telling the world that I pooped in Allan McNish's bathroom firstest.

Just on the glass, I even dislike dealership stuff on cars. I ask are you going to pay me monthly advertising fee's for that, or drop a few grand off sticker, if not please remove it an clean the paint up, I can go someplace else if not. some are okay but I have seen some dealer emblems that are just down right ugly and don't eve match the car.

I'm accepting of just about every automotive trend.... Except the sticker/beer label bomb. Maybe I just don't understand this one. Is the idea to pledge allegiance to brand names through a colorful collage..? I'm lost I guess.... But, to each his own.

It's a simple way to stand out. But stickerbombing is a) expensive and b) unoriginal nowadays. People are stickerbombing the bike rack they don't use, on their JDM ashtray equipped civics with fartcans and camber. This is creating an imminent threat of reaching the poser singularity.

My beer-bombing was my way around this. A way to dress up a 2000$ DD jetta project in a new way. I love people who assume it's a sticker bomb and then see the beer labels and then it clicks in their head. Best part about just doing the fenders is that new ones are 40$ each for some decent ones from a nearby junkyard. I figure when I get tired of them, I'll just junk these and get new ones.

My main issue was the cost, I get it, it's colorful cool and what not, but splashing hundreds of dollars worth of stickers just seems like a waste, but +1 for the beer labels, that is original...at least I haven't come by one yet. It's not that I'm a hater on the style but just haven't quite accepted the appeal.
