I was looking for E30s, found this for sale:
Monogrillers would approve.

Looks pretty clean. Slap some euro bumpers and non sealed beam headlights and you'll have a sweet ride.
What was the asking price, out of curiosity?

Well, I live in Brazil, and all imported cars older than 1993 are overpriced (importing cars between the 60's and 90's was outlawed, so the few exceptions skyrocket in prices, even though most are just piles of rust). It's US$9,000 for it. The cheapest E30 I've found (most swing around US$18,000). It's an auto 318. The owner says mechanically it's perfect.
Looks very nice. Although I would prefer it as a Manual.

And I thought e30 prices in the US were getting high. It's cool that they are so rare though, if you can afford it go for it.
I love my e30, not terribly fast, but a blast to drive every day.

Yeah, they are rocketing in price. A E34 540 can easily cost more than a 540 E39. But on the other hand, I just found a Trans Am in mild conditions, and the guy was asking US$75,000. A nice mustang 1970 Mustang can cost around $100,000 (I saw a fox body last year for $40,000 and it was in poor conditions) American muscle costs absurd over here. People love it for some reason, so a BMW isn't really that expensive if you compare.
I'm actually more daydreaming than actually looking for E30s (or 2002, found a Alpina, but it was US$30,000). I recently moved in with my lady, so I'm buying furniture, we're getting married next year and I still have 3 years of engineering ahead of me... so, getting a car for myself is one of the lowest priorities, unfortunately.
