Mine is just a sea of cubicles. Luckily I can just walk through the ocean most of the day. My cubicle isn't super exciting though.

Better than a Strapon catalog...

lol yeah. There is also the dudes that bring the thing in a red shop towel and say, i need one of these....HOW MUCH? lol
![]() 10/07/2013 at 09:49 |

You've obviously never had the misfortune of using Snapons terrible catalogs. I'd rather be in the receiving end of a legion of strapon quality assurance testers than use Snapons awful catalogs every day.
Come to think of it, it's about the same really.

I actually think the style they've used on this building is quite cool. I'm more in this room though:

I do have a calendar I made through Vistaprint. It is all cars from pre 1950 this year. I usually select cars that no one in the office has heard of. There is a couple of pictures in the cube too, but they move us around so often I just stopped putting up too many decorations. I've already moved my desk three times this year, and there is one more move about to happen. Between the moves and me only spending maybe an hour at my desk it is just not really worth spending any money to decorate it.
Just for fun. Here is how I get to prison....I mean work.

My office in panoramic format! Windows and real walls. The joys of being management. Sadly, my view of the runway is obscured by a parking deck. Items of Jalop interest:
Nurburgring poster that I got when we drove the track.
Our 24 Hours of LeMons Grassroots Motorsport "Most With the Least" trophy.
HotWheels!
Pics of the kids and one of Alan Shepherd.
Awesome Bridgestone poster.
LeMons poster.

I actually have a pretty good spot. There is a nice pond outside.

I miss the good old days of having an office, then I transferred...and then they ran out of space. Now, I'm an internal consultant sitting in a blank cubical approximately the size of a king size bed surrounded by assistants. Meh, pays the bills. Even if I don't know if it's light or dark outside...
![]() 10/07/2013 at 11:45 |
|
i know your pain, i'd waaay rather my bays out in the shop but hey, pays the bills like you said. Less brake cleaner in the eyes is cool also lol

dude sweet a pond. Ever see animals doing crazy things (birds snatching fish) etc.?
![]() 10/07/2013 at 12:16 |

The thing that really grinds my gears about it is that not having a private office actually makes it difficult to do my job. Kind of hard to have a private conversation (even on the phone) about an employee issue when you've got a flock of women surrounding you listening to every last thing you say.
![]() 10/07/2013 at 12:18 |

Nothing about our company is prison-like. We have cubes, but they all have low walls. Everybody, including the execs (VPs, C-Levels) all sit in the same style cubes. If we need to have a private meeting, we have conference rooms named after movies and video games. That poster on my outer wall is a pic they took of me last year on our last big hiring kick, where we extolled the virtues of our culture-rich workplace. We're hiring.
As for my desk, it's a standing desk. I am positioned in a high traffic area where I get to interact with just about everybody in the company on a daily basis. Yes, that's a Haynes Desk Diary I'm using for a mousepad. Nerf gun?! Yep, it's a Stampede.

crap that sucks, are they hot at least? There are ZERO chicks here :(

All the time. There are a couple cranes that hang out there, what we think is a mink, and a bunch of ducks usually.
![]() 10/07/2013 at 12:26 |
|
If you're of an appropriate age where completely average to below average middle aged women do it for you, then...sure...
However, the hospital that I work for (which is 3 miles away from my downtown office....err, cube....is full of much better things to look at.
![]() 10/07/2013 at 12:36 |

cool, it'd be cool to see some cranes fightining
![]() 10/07/2013 at 12:47 |

I'm a contract artist/animator so I mostly work from home and I needed a workstation to doodle at all day. I also really wanted a sim rig that I could use to play iRacing, F1, etc. Problem was I only really had space for one or the other and I only had one computer.
My solution: the John Player Special Sim-Racing Workstation And Doodle Factory....3000!
I found plans on youtube for a rig using PVC, added a 4' 1/2" desk top and a cheap adjustable JEGS racing seat, painted the whole thing in Lotus JPS livery and voila! Only drawback is that it's very low to the ground which makes it a little uncomfortable for doing anything other than racing. But that's a price I'm willing to pay to pretend I'm sitting in a Lotus 79 all day.
- Here's my view. Photoshop, Flash and Jalop/Oppo (and a sleeping beagle):
-Here's another angle, some construction shots and more beagles:

yeah, i'd probably never leave home if i had that rid. does anyone else use it?
![]() 10/07/2013 at 17:21 |
|
Oh yeah, anytime I have friends or family over I always let them hop in and drive around. But during the day I solely use for it drawing, animating and spending way too much time on the internet.

993 GT2? Doesn't your boss give you shit for not having a CLK-GTR instead?
![]() 10/07/2013 at 18:47 |
|
we have some 1:24 scale scale cars in the glass counter, the 993 i got yesterday at Target lol.
![]() 10/07/2013 at 18:48 |
|
2 things.
1. I really want to see the models now
2. Why 1:24? I thought people only collected 1:18 and 1:43
![]() 10/07/2013 at 18:54 |
|
We have 1:18 but just DB9's and XC90's. Mercs in 1:24 only. V70's XC60 C30 are in 1:64. I gave a XC60 to some hot chick that bought a bunch accessories. Besides that i dont think we've sold any in over a year. If they go discontinued and out of inventory, i'll probably take them and give them away at Cars and Coffee to little kids so they can start up a collection.
![]() 10/07/2013 at 19:04 |

If you give away those to kids at a Cars and Coffee you will be a hero. I didn't get something quite as cool, but last year at a Porsche Swap meet Chuck Stoddard (a well known ex-dealership owner in Porsche circles) gave me a whole bunch of Porsche Literature, and since then i've really been growing my collection. It was great.
