You do know that the term "Jap" is pretty offensive, to Japanese people, right ?

Yeah. I would never identify a person that way. But if you're offended that I didn't show a Skyline proper respect, then I don't really know what to tell ya.

So, you don't identify a person's and a car company's origin with the same term ?

Of course not. Do you call a rug Japanese or Chinese, or even Asian? No. You call it oriental. But you'd never call a person oriental in the modern day and age. It's the same with all inanimate objects for me.

Of course I do, the term Oriental is associated, in my mind, with middle eastern, Arab stuff, the term Asian my brain associates with Japanese, Chinese, Korean and other SE Asian countries. However, due their unicity, it's not that hard to identify a rug, or any other object, not to mention person, as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Arab whatever.
And, the term oriental, never carried the hatred, the term Jap carried during the WW2, and the years after the war. The Japanese authorities made efforts to make the Olympic Committee and other international sporting authorities, change the abbreviation for Japan, to JPN instead of JAP. Seeing you using it, surprised me, as you got an Acura logo, for an avatar.

I guess with being young and not growing up in that era or with that mindset has made me not think of things in that way. I'm an open minded individual who doesn't take life too seriously. We need to not hate, but also put away all the PC bullshit. I love Jap cars and have never meant that offensively or in a derogatory manner.

No problem, as long as you stop using it. In the end, it's not about pc, it's about respect for other people.

Ugh I hate when companies are too PC to take a jab at competitors. Just lost a little bit of respect for Infiniti.
