Ed bought this 1992 Acura NSX in 1998 fulfilling a dream of having a high performance vehicle. He never let go of his dream and enjoys it every weekend. He's made subtle changes to his ride. A smattering of carbon fibre components are seen on the car. "It doesn't really make the car lighter significantly. It's really about the aesthetic and personal taste," explains the second owner of this car.

A set of Rays rims make a very nice addition to the all-aluminum bodied car.

Ed moved to Colorado Springs from California and has found his tweaked suspension has resulted in a rough ride, probably due to the punishment each Winter doles out to the Rocky Mountain Empire's roads and highways.

This NSX surprises nearly everyone because it has an automatic. "It's a rare option. In a large gathering of NSXs, there might be one other automatic," according to Ed. In a short ride I forgot the car had an automatic as it rocketed ahead with ease.

There is no doubt the Acura NSX is a modern classic in the vein of the Porsche 930 Turbo, or Ferrari 512 BBi. Ed has kept his car in nice condition, but this is no Garage Queen, he drives it weekly weather permitting. This car has also seen its fair share of track time including Mazda's Laguna Seca Raceway.

The engine bay is as beautiful, and nearly as clean, as the exterior design.

Here's a shoddy video I shot on my iPhone 5, but it captures some of the sounds and even the feel of this modern classic.

There's a window/glass division inside?

Yes. Is there not supposed to be?

It was the first time I ever noticed it, that's why I asked.

To support the targa top, I suppose.

Must be, I know little to nothing about the NSX, though it was pretty comfy inside. Were it not for the taut suspension, it might be a nice road trip car.

It might sound a bit douchey/elitist but the autobox is such a disappointment to me in an otherwise gorgeous/amazing car. I'm sure it's still fast and brilliant to drive but that's just a bummer.

I was surprised to see an automatic in it. I didn't notice as he put the accelerator to the floor - the car rocketed ahead. It has value for being a 2nd owner car, relatively low miles and a rare automatic. However, I'd rather have a manual any day of the week.

Once the VTEC kicks in, there's so much power, it doesn't matter.
