Daniel Gray provides an excellent review of the Ford Fiesta ST. He praises its performance, but pans Sync and the back seat, all valid points. He manages great fuel economy when not hooning. The highlight is the obvious fact that this car has a manual transmission and hopefully it teach a younger generation to drive a stick in this era of floppy paddle shifters.

Very nice review, been paying a lot attention to these, this may be my next car will be perfect for commuting, I just wish we had the 2 door option I really don't need the back seat.
I was really hoping the 1.0l would of made it to our shores, since that engine is almost as potent or better then the base 1.6 in on the non st models and 65mpg yea I'd take that in 2 door please.

Somewhere on Jalopnik was a story about low displacment super MPG euro-cars. The boil down was that near 20 second 0-60 times were so horrid that such cars wouldn't sell in our market where most vehicles are far more punchy.

I agree that having the 2 door on out shores would be awesome though, it would be a bit lighter.

That's not an issue with this, if you watch Fifth gear at all, They do comparison of the Fiesta 1.6 and the Fiesta 1.0 new model old model and the 1.0 actually ends up being quicker then the 1.6 they ran against, mostly because its a 1.0 eco boost and the 1.6 is NA its not fast but its not slow either its not like the Passat diesel in the article, your speaking of.

Looks like compared to the same year with auto the 1.0l is a tenth of second slower.

and it has one less cylinder. btw the 1.0 is a 3 cylinder turbo engine.

2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost Hatchback 0-60 mph 9.7

2014 Ford Fiesta SE Sedan (Auto) 0-60 mph 9.6

2014 Ford Fiesta ST 0-60 mph 6.7

edit for format issue.
