Just as a heads-up, since I think my point didn't make it across very well, my anecdote was NOT meant to be snobby or boastful. I just found myself in the position to get back at an asshole salesman (seriously, I don't think I've met anyone more smug in my life) and took it.

I've found that I get more notifications for my comments on the front page than for my posts shared to the front page these days. Furthermore, I find that most comments on my comments are negative, while the few comments on my actual posts are generally positive.

I feel like it would have been worse if I made a big fucking deal about it.

It's an especially unreliable Volkswagen that makes a lot of noise and is very noticeable. Mythologizing it is pointless.

I realized it would get attention, I think I just got too used to my posts not generally being noticed.

I try to stay away from the FP. There's a much higher proportion of trolls, assholes, and burners there.
