I honestly think I prefer the styling of the old one...
And electric parking brake? What?!

Very informative review, thanks.
And I love this photograph. It seems like a simple composition, but it shows how perfect the car's profile is now, which 987 can't quite claim.

It isn't a 3.4 liter Cayman S. It is a 2.7 liter Cayman.
And BTW, it is actually less.
206 lb.-ft. at 4,400 - 6,500 rpm
But also,
Curb weight w/ manual 2,888 lbs.
http://press.porsche.com - 2013_Boxster_Specs_Final.pdf
And it revs to a 7,750 RPM redline, per speedmonkey's dash gauge picture in his review.
Think of it like a car equivalent to a really great middle-weight sporting motorcycle. Not a huge bruiser, and you have to rev the engine to make it work well, but it does work well. The Cayman S is obviously gutsier with significantly more power.
It has more power from a better balanced H6 (narrower firing order and smoother running than an H4), right at the same weight, better balance, and a WHOLE BOATLOAD of better build quality and materials than a BRZ. But all that "more" at the same weight, necessarily means more money.

It is a great looker. That building you can see the corner of is Porsche GB's main warehouse and distribution centre

Electric parking brakes need to be BANNED. Ughughughugh. I can't pull that in an emergency. It's too tied into the rest of the car.
