Let's say you have $52M to spend on cars. You already have a huge warehouse. What do you fill it with? Is it 1 car? 750 V-Wagons? Or a wide selection of many cars? I don't have my answer yet, but I'll think about it while I "do homework." Show me your $52M of cars below!

EDIT: here's my list, in no particular order. Also, I estimated heavily, so some may be way high and others way low.

Mclaren P1 at 1.15m
Bentley Conti GT Speed: 250k
Duesenberg model J convertible sedan about 1m
Jag F-Type V8S about 100k
BMW M1 at 200K
Alfa 8C at 300k
Porsche 918 at about 1m
Audi RS6 avant: 500k, with about 400k of that to pay off the gov to let it in the US
1953 Buick skylark at 200k
Mclaren F1 at about 8m
1933 Rolls at 1m
Merc 300SL at 1.2 M
1955 (Chevy, Pontiac, Olds, Buick, Caddy) about 300k total
Mercedes 540K at 11m
SLS AMG at around 300k
Cobra 289 (always liked it better than 427) at 1m
Ford GT40 MK1: 3m
Ferrari 250 California Spyder: 11m
Ferrari458 spyder: 300k
1959 Caddy Eldorado: 100k
Mclaren 12C spyder 300k
NA MIATA! 10k

The rest for all the great cars I surely forgot.
This seems a lot better than 1 Ferrari, no matter how great.

1 BRZ, 1 Pagani Zonda F, 1 NSX, 1 SLS AMG, 1 Aston, 1 Ford F150 Raptor w/ trailer, 1 R34, 1R35, and a couple of project cars. That's it really. The rest go to buying a car lift and saving the rest.

Well... I would start with a(or more idk) house(s) for 10Mill and build massive garages and race tracks on the property(s) for... what? 5Mill-1Mill. Which would leave me with... 37Mill for cars... so... all of them... ALL OF THEM... all but that damn Ferrari.

Honestly, if I could afford to daily drive a 458 italia I would be satisfied. Now I might need the other $51.6 million for maintenance.

That's an impossible list to comprise.

Because it wouldn't be spent in a day and would depend on what was around and what struck my fancy bone (that's what I call my penis).

Sure, I'd immediately go around to all of my favorite dealerships grabbing up the eye candy they've tempted me with. At Ford, I'd probably end up buying at least two Mustangs (a GT500 and Boss) and who knows what else. My Dodge dealership has had a Viper sitting pretty for a while, so maybe that. And so on and so on.

And then I'd just buy everything that appealed to me. If I were out doing errands and spotted Capri for sale, regardless of condition, I'd buy it up. The same goes for a great many things.

By the time I'd spent it all, I'd have an eclectic collection of cars which I'd hide in my secret barn garage on my vast property so that, 30 years later, someone could stumble upon it and write me forever into the legacy of car history.

I'm a boring kind of person, so this is my master plan with $52 million in my hand:

1) Buy a Subaru Crosstrek and do a 2014 Forester XT engine swap, bumping the meager 148hp to 250 turbocharged horses.

Kinja'd!!!

2) Buy a 2013 Genesis 5.0 R-spec and install an aftermarket exhaust system.

Kinja'd!!!

3) Buy a Ford Raptor.

Kinja'd!!!

4) Buy a 1968 Lincoln Continental and modify it to look like the one In Time.

Kinja'd!!!

5) Rest of the money: Set up a driving school for underprivileged children.

With that kind of money, I'd look for hard-luck cases and foot the bill to have their cars restored or whatever. Overhaulin' without the TV cameras.

Kinja'd!!! 55Buick, Oversteer Scientist > Lets Just Drive
10/03/2013 at 23:55

That's kind of what I was thinking. While I was watching the Lambrecht auction on TV, my mom said stuff like "wow, it's really too bad that car is in such rough shape..There's no WAY someone would restore that! They would just lose money on that one." And I thought, if I ever become rich, saving "un-saveable" cars would be the most satisfying thing in the world. Just because it's been beaten to crap doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be saved, even at a loss of money.
