How are these cars grouped?
As a track day novice, or bloody virgin, I'm always curious.

group by basic skill level as decided upon by the instructors. Beginners start out in D, the lowest class, with wavebys (passing) only allow on the back straight. After a couple DE's and an instructor has decided your good enough, you will be bumped up to C, which is slightly better drivers. By the time you get to B, your a pretty good driver, and have probably been doing trackdays for more than 5 years. A is the best, and A is trusted to pass anywhere on the track. Most of the guy's in A are pretty serious about track days or are amateur racers, and Instructors are pretty much all racers in Nasa or SCCA.

I have Harry's Lap Timer but can't record videos because New Jersey Motorsports Park has a draconian policy against suction cup mounts of any type. I'm stuck with (relatively spotty) GPS data whenever I'm there. Sucks.
Mid Ohio is an awesome track! Looks like you were able to work through traffic pretty quickly in that run group also. Nothing kills fun faster than having to pull into the hot pits every few laps to duck out of a train.

He was BAD....
some huge oversight saw him placed in the fastest run group from the start of the event....after the 1st session, he got moved to the 2nd quickest (this one with me) and then to the slowest....
He was BAD
