...well, as of this past September, it is putting out over 1000 hp at the wheels. Just let that sink in a minute.

WTF! Does it just eat its front tires? I will say that is an impressive torque curve just staying flat like that. I really wonder how this thing handles being driven. Also 8500 RPM redline? that is pretty nutso, especially in the epitome of a beigemobile.

Yawn... You can put a 1000 HP in a Camry, but it's still a Camry.

1000 hp Camry...
Let's see them do it with a 2CV!

However, it makes a fine daily driver for when the owner puts his 1200 hp Supra away for the winter.

I'm digging the random piece of 1"x4" they're using as a wheel "chock" for that 8500 rpm / 1000+ hp dyno run under the rear wheel.
Safety first right? smh

I can't imagine that it doesn't eat front tires. Stock redline is at 6800 rpm, so this engine has seen a lot of work. With that kind of power, it's probably best left at straight line driving only, at least under acceleration. It has taken on an R35 GTR, however, it only had around 730 hp at the time. ( you may need to watch it on the YouTube site)

thats the better part about this, because no matter what this guy races, they can't win.
Its either
"You just lost to a toyota camry!"
or
"Congrats, you just beat a toyota camry"
Either way, they lose.

I see your point. But I just do not like Camry's, Corollas, Accords, Civics, Etc. A friend of mine asked what he should get to replace his truck cause he wanted to travel more. I said, maybe a Fiesta ST or a Focus ST or a Fusion. He drove all of the above named cars, including the Mazda Speed 3 and decided on the Focus, though not in ST trim. He has been very happy with the decision. He said he didn't feel like an average soccer dad driving an unrecognizable car and it and it looked better. Which I agree on.

I don't either, but I can see the comedy in this.
I just hope, for the owners sake, this car is grounded to the ground.
