Kinja'd!!!2 Kinja'd!!! 19

My wife knows how to cheer me up. I've had an extremely shitty day (in a first-world problems sort of way), then she sent me this pic that she just took in Boston and asked what it was:

Kinja'd!!!

I finally feel like I accomplished something today (identifying a Veyron and answering all her questions... in truth, she just asked "what is it?" and "how much?" but I couldn't help telling her about how many radiators it has and how much VW loses on every one they produce ($6.2 million?).

So my question for Oppo-lockers would be, does the two-tone paint indicate that it's the super-sport, or could that option be had on the base model as well?

The paint job doesn't indicate that it's a super sport (I don't think) but as far as I know it still could be. When you're paying that much for a car, they'll paint it however you want it.

edit: looking at the other things people are posting, I'd say it's definitely not a super sport.

Well, I have no idea. Trying to research based on the photo - possibly a 2010 Grand Sport?

It a standard model. The super sport looks way different.

Definitely not an SS (note the NACA ducts on the roof), and to tell the grand sport vitesse and the regular drop top, look for the dual tailpipes like the SS.

The supersport headlights have LED's in them, the 16.4's (which is shown in your picture) do not. In addition, all Bugatti Veyrons generally have the same paint options, so whether it is two toned or not does indicate that it is an SS. However, I believe that a bare carbon fiber finish on the exterior of the car is the only decorative option reserved for the SS only.

Nice, we were out in LA a couple years ago, and while I was stuck at a meeting my lady was out exploring. I asked her to get some car pron while she out.

She got a black and yellow Veyron on Sunset. Same sort of conversation ensued. She knew it was crazy...just not the full extent.

She always sends pics of fancy cars when she's away on business. We're actually going to LA next week for a business (hers) trip. Didn't think of the potential for nice cars - too focused on tacos.

For some reason that joke never gets old. Probably because I'm around teenagers too much. (I'm a teacher...not a weirdo, well I'm a weirdo just not THAT kind of weirdo)

Right on, we'd get on well. My lady goes to europe quite a bit and now is lusting over all those unobtainable versions of cars they get. Good thing I married her.

There are very few places that have the same ideal spotting conditions for hot cars than Southern California. Lots of folks, money, and good weather. You'll flip at the quality of the 70s Datsuns...and it is only up from there.

And as you well know...PRIME taco country. Enjoy. Have an al pastor and a barabcoa for me.

I've been out there a few times and, now that I think about it, I have seen some rather high-end cars (my uncle lives in Palos Verdes Estates, which is pretty foofoo). Went to the Petersen museum last time as well. And I've always been amazed at all the pristine cars from the 70's... those things would turn to dust after a month back east.

We honeymooned in Laguna Beach a decade ago - no shortage of tacos there, but we'll be in Santa Monica, and even though I have a good friend there, he's got horrible taste when it comes to food (he suggested some Italian restaurant and an Irish pub... we're near NYC, why would I want to eat Italian in LA?). Hoping my stomach will guide me.

It's a great place for cars for sure. Even the 80s Buick shitwagen.

My buddy lives in Dana Point which is right by Laguna. He's a food dood of the highest regard. Yelp it up. There is so much amazing stuff around it's silly.

Kinda hard not to have a good time out there though...bad italian is still pretty good in my book.

That black and yellow Bugatti is the"Bijan Bugatti" and is always parked in front of the Bijan store on Rodeo Dr.
