I got the chance to drive to Park City for work yesterday and because I live at the bottom of the cottonwood canyons, I took the backway to get home. one of my favorite driving roads, enhanced with more trails. Pics below

god I miss living in that part of the country with a vehicle to handle it. Can I move to that cabin in shot 4? I will just grab another series IIa or BJ60 and deal with that commute.

You're a real sonofabitch, you know that?

you don't want to live in that cabin, but there are some very nice ones in this area, some probably for sale.

There is a small community of cabins at the top of the pass between Park city and Midway/salt lake where I took these pictures. most of this are is...if I'm honest, probably private property, but I never went anywhere that had a sign. I live at the foot of little cottonwood canyon, but I would LOVE to live in Midway.

LC80, thats the right tool for the job. It's not a 70 but it contains just as much win.

edit: sorry, thought you said 60. Yeah I would kill for a 70.

I lived in Denver with a IIa, and this looks exactly like what I remember seeing for trails in the front range. Lots of those were private property, but as long as you werent being a yahoo, not a care was given to what you did as long as you were respectful.

I have the sudden urge to move to where you live, just for the commute.
I don't think that sentence has ever been written in all of human history before.

I would be a very happy man should I manage to acquire a 60, 70, 80 or 100 series.
I'm seriously considering importing a new(ish) 70, probably pickup form, with manual and diesel from Australia. As a treat to myself and the business should the next couple of contracts turn out well.
I've always got an eye on original SWB 70's in the UK (even LWB too), they're rare but are round and can pick them up a lot cheaper than getting one of the few manual JDM 70's that are still around.

side note: 285/75r16's don't rub at all, even on my tired old springs. I thoroughly tested.

You don't happen to know a guy named Kristian with a red Cruiser do you? He was in Park City at one point with the US Ski Team. Remote chance I'm guess, but you never know!

I love this post so much for some reason. Big Cottonwood Canyon was my favorite place to hike and go for spirited drives... so serene. I will end up in UT again someday!
