Four downhill mountain bikers take a jump off a ladder bridge instead of taking the hidden sharp left hander at the end. Some bumps & bruises and a messed up front wheel, but it appears that no major damage was incurred.

No offense, but thats funny as crap. As a mountain biker that would have probably done the same thing....I laugh.

Uhm, what happend to "take a slow ride down the trail first, so that we can learn the route"? I don't do much downhill riding, mostly slow speed down hard technical routes on my part, but I still walk/ride slow down the path at least one time so I know what I'm up against..

Yeah, I was laughing. And it totally looks like it should be a jump from the helmet cam view. There is no warning at all that the trail goes left and you can't see the trail going left either. Totally understandable that they assumed it was another jump, especially after the way the trail started.

There is a trail I ride on a lot with fake out's like that, they built in a step up, step down then a double and at the bottom of the double is a sharp left. Stupid. I have almost run into the woods so many times on that one. Retarded trail building FTL.

That seems like terrible course design.

While I generally agree to be tentative on the first ride, with bridges and drops you have to have speed, or your wreck hard. This is just a stupidly designed trail. At least put a freaking sign up. All it has to do is point left.

I'll agree to a certain point, the trail is poorly designed, but they COULD have taken a stroll alongside it and determined if and where any dangerous spots where, that's what I do at least.. By "slow ride" I mean that you should find a way to know the trail before you attack at full speed. But yeah, poor design, I'll give you that. :) And I'd like to say sorry for any confusion that might occur, my native tongue ain't english :)

Hehe... XXXTREMEEE BRO'!! Ain't got time for no slow... WOOAH...

But no, I've got no sympathy for people who don't bother to assess the situation before diving headlong into it.

As a downhiller, I would find the person responsible for this shitty design, and tear off one of his arms to make into a left arrow sign. Even with a sign, you hit that bridge a a decent clip, it wouldn't be unheard of to hit the handrail-type thing while still somewhat airborne, which would end up FLIPPING you down the hill.

that's no fun. I generally agree, but its still no fun. I will tell you that the more technical the trail gets, timidity is far more a liability than an asset. committing to a line on a trail like this has a higher success rate than does caution. same with skiing or anything else, at a certain level, its full commitment or nothing.

I'll just take your word for it. I've never been one to take things full on on a bike, I've always taken things slow.. I still do vertical drops though, but hardly ever more than 3 feet or so. As for skiing, I live in norway ;) I've done things so stupid on a pair of skis you won't even believe it. Black slopes on cross country skis and shit.. But let's just agree to disagree on this ehh? The trail was designed by an idiot, the guys in the video did not know what they got themselves into. :)

I love Norway, my wife's family is from there, we went there on our honeymoon. Sorry about the dark and cold season coming up.

Sorry about it? Nah mate, I frigging LOVE the winter up here, I love the dark and the snow :) I live pretty far south anyway, so it's not like it's eternal darkness here in the winter. But dude, your wifes family's from Norway? Gotta know from which part of Norway mate.. And if you've never been to North cape, you know what to do.

They are from Bergen, we went from Oslo to Gielo then did the Rallervagen to Flam, then to bergen, then around the spoon.

Ahh. well.. In Bergen they don't even HAVE winter ;) They only get rain... but Geilo, damn that's a pretty place mate :) And Rallarvegen to Flåm? That's pretty epic :) You pretty much got a huge part of what Norway's all about in a very short trip then.

we tried, I still want to go north and there is a lot of the fjord country we want to see again. Great place.

If you'll ever get the opportunity to go north I highly reccomend you do that in the winter season, there's nothing like the aurora borealis up on the north cape mid winter.. You should also try to take a tour of the eastern part of Norway in the summer some time, check out a canyon that's called "helvete" (Hell) and stuff..
