A: Nope. (proceeds to crack open refrigerant line)

I just got back from the ER after a nice blast of R134 in both eyes. It was the condenser fittings, so there was plenty of oil, too.

So when you removed the fill valve cap and tested/depressed the needle valve nothing came out, making you think it was empty?

Repeat after me. I will wear my safety glasses, I will wear my safety glasses... Glad you are OK, but when working around potentially hazardous things, safety is key. My example, would you try to weld without a mask?

Even I can see the humor in that.

Are the eyes improving? And has the soothing alcohol worn off?

Have a follow up appointment with an eye doctor here shortly.

I was told by the attending Dr lat night that this injury wouldn't require an eye patch. Too bad, since Halloween is right around the corner.

You could still wear an eyepatch for Halloween.

Hopefully no permanent damage, it sucks getting stuff in your eye.

I resent that first sentence. Older than a lot of the people on here, for sure. Experienced, I would agree with that. Nice clean up my friend. Second sentence buffered the first. Great save.

I typed my apology before I read your complete reply, because I was concerned that I insulted you. Those two sentences were very much meant to go together. I know you, and I for that matter, are older than many in this group. I'll be 47 next month. So I was teasing a bit about your paternal tone, and I'm sorry if I came off wrong.

This is the interweb. Sometimes, because there is no visual or oral interaction, things get misinterpreted. I'm generally good about appreciating that fact. If we had been on webcams, we would have both understood what the other was trying to convey. No big deal to me, my Oppo friend.

Ha, Ha, so I find there are other people on here who have exceeded the draft age. :) I am amazed at how young many Oppo's there are. But that is a good thing. It keeps the legacy alive. And when it comes to love of cars, age means nothing. (except in the staging lanes.) But I play with that at non busy traffic lights. When the light turns yellow for the other direction, you try to see how fast you can launch when you get the green. Life's too short to always play by the rules. :)
