You’re far ahead of me, for sure. Right now all I have is a bottle of Balvenie 12.

How is coffee grain whiskey/scotch? I’ve seen it but never had it. Does it taste like coffee or is it just made to be put in coffee?

I need to get another Springbank myself, really good Scotch.

Other than the Auchentoshan, the other whiskeys were Christmas gifts (there is a spare bottle of Jameston too).

You’re doing far better than me. All I’ve got on hand is a bottle of Bruichladdich. I need to remedy that tomorrow.

Finally got the 57 that I wanted for so long, totally worth it. Deciding if I should get an Lagavulin 8, and I need to get my ass off to fix my cabinet lighting.

Believe it or not ours is an ikea cabinet too. We installed a full wall Besta entertainment unit with glass fronts on both sides of the tv hole. The other side is for vodkas and other liquor. The cabinet below the scotch has cognac.

Seeing how your Rock Oyster is front/center and half gone, is it safe to assume you’re a big fan? It’s the only bottle I have with a second in waiting. Took 1/4 bottle to warm up to it, but I think that had a lot to do with off kilter expectations.

If you missed my post a few weeks ago regarding the Rock Oyster Sherry Cask, it’s fantastic. The sweetness is silky and leathery, and is perfectly balanced with the fully intact original character.

Not only do I suggest that if you see it to pick it up, but seek it out, call around, drive an hour round trip to get it if you need to, make it your life mission.

I have not read your blog. I shall do it when I am hungover tomorrow.

Yes the rock oyster is a bit of an acquired taste. It is pretty “salty” and it is definitely something you warm up to. I do enjoy it though.
