After literal years of trying to convince my grandma to get a smaller car, she finally traded in her ‘02 Ram last night on something much nicer, quieter, more fuel efficient, and just plain more fitting for her.

The newly non-functioning heat and misfire on the Ram pushed her over the edge. Thank you Dodge for your shoddy workmanship in the early 2000s.

It’s a CPO 2014 Regal 2.0T with 47,000 miles on it. Crystal Red Tintcoat over Ebony leather. I’m usually not a fan of old lady red but it’s very, very pretty on this car. It’s not loaded to the gills, but has plenty of toys to overwhelm my grandma whose truck didn’t even have power adjusting seats. It met her two requirements of a backup camera and remote start too so it was a great success. Plus she bought it through my work so I get an $100 referal bonus!

How are these long term? I’m thinking about a used Regal for me next “nice car below the radar” purchase, but it needs to be comfy and very reliable.

These usually don’t come through service at work for more than routine maintenance honestly. The ones that do come in with problems are typically well abused.

Completely unrelated question... have you heard anything new regarding the airbag seat sensor on the Solstices/Skys? It’s been a year since that recall letter.

And it’s the well know 2.0T from the cobalt SS right? Well a descendant of and those were pretty reliable, well for it’s time.

I’ll have to look and see if there’s been an update to the bulletin. I feel like I heard there wasn’t anything yet but I may be wrong.

It’s not the same motor but it is a direct descendant. Little more refined and it has a regular can filter instead of the classic ecotec cartridge.

Thank you sir. Not that I’m in a rush, not like anyone ever sits in my passenger seat anyways, lol.

Just don’t really want it disrupting my summer car season unless dealer gives me a rental Corvette instead, but according to Enterprise, my “comparable” car is a Hyundai Elantra...

Just looked, there’s a temporary fix but nothing permanent yet. That bulletin was last updated in June so I imagine something would be coming soon.

Yup, that’s what the second letter said. Basically if it breaks then just keeping the bad sensors in until it breaks again. I guess maybe they want to use up the bad sensors first.
