This is insane. The environmental left hates ethanol, because its an environmental disaster. The socialist left hates ethanol, because its a handout to large corporations. The free market conservatives hate it, because its a handout to large corporations, and the libertarians hate it for those and other reasons.
This should be like one of maybe 6 or 7 things that you would think both sides of Congress could get together on and end, but because one, tiny, corn-dependent state has the earliest Presidential primary, and, as we all know, the other 49 states are irrelevant in national elections, it has to continue.

You forgot to include drivers hate it because it lowers MPG. Boaters hate it because ethanol is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air. Pilots hate it because it attacks rubber seals in the fuel system (and the FAA sez we can’t use it) The corn lobby is more than one state, but I get your drift.

Can’t run E85, E30 is as high as I can go. Also, most cars won’t run E30.
