I have a new favorite whisky (whiskey?)
I brought a bottle of whiskey to Christmas, which made my Uncle bust out his very nice collection of whiskey and scotch. I’m not really into scotch (whisky for those from Britain) but I absolutely loved this stuff.
The best part was that no one touched my whiskey so I have the whole bottle to myself!

There are some really good Japanese whiskies out there. My favorite is Yamazaki. I picked up a fizith for $45 a few years ago and then it became vaporware innthe states amd shot up to $200.

The only whiskies with an E in their names come from countries with E in their name (United States, Ireland, etc). Canada, Scotland, Japan, are all whisky.
I was originally going to make a joke about how the Irish are always wrong about these things and since Scotland IS whisky it should be so but I thought yeah nah not gonna do that

Dang, I think I should go pick a bottle of this stuff up then. It’s about $70, but that’s not bad if your only gonna drink it on special occasions.

I see. I always thought that whiskey was made from corn and whisky was scotch that wasn’t made in Scotland.

I had tried Yamazaki for the first time in Tokyo this year - Japanese whisky is pretty damn good.
Sadly, the only one I can find in my area is Toki and it’s not a cheap whisky at all.

I do like Suntory’s other mainstream bottle. I forgot the name of it but it’s under 40$ and it is so smooth and light on the tongue.

This is a fantastic choice! We were turned on to Hibiki a few years ago by our realtor/friend. We now always have a bottle of Hibiki Suntori 12 and Hibiki Suntori 17 on hand (the latter for more special occasions as it’s harder to find).

I finished my Hibiki a while back. I used to buy Yamazaki until it got voted best scotch in the world and the price jumped from $60 something to $200 if you can even find a bottle. I have a Nikka Coffey Grain right now and I had the Taketsuru not too long ago.

I’ve stayed at the Park Hyatt, the room and bar I’m pretty sure are both there. Get a room facing Yoyogi Park and possibly Fujisan if it’s clear. The cool thing is the hotel is from like the 20th floor up so when you go in the lower lobby you have to go up to the main lobby in the elevator. Good spot to see Toyota Crowns too.

Well they pick people up so I would think they could be hired to drive around. My wife was up in the lobby and I went down to the turnaround. I talked to a driver and he wasn’t busy, he opened the hood and showed me around it. It had like a blue velour interior.
