I’ve finally forgiven myself for the events leading up to my breakup as well as the breakup itself. I decided to do what Miss Tesla suggested and I put myself out there! Maybe I can ring in the New Year with a fun date!
For anyone wondering, Miss Tesla is doing well. I like her new guy too and hope he treats her very well. :)

Me: “Well I mean, it only has 70 bhp, 68 tq and a wheelbase shorter a Trump appointee’s term, I’m not that stupid. Also, the trailer is 950 pounds per U-Haul’s site.” lol

I still wish U-Haul would just give me one of those trailers. :3

I met my ex on OKCupid, but since we broke up in August it was just one failure after another. I deactivated my profile after I was nearly catfished last month. I needed a break. I’m going to try something different soon...

Curiously, I met my ex on there as well. She was basically a crazy cat lady in training and cost me a fortune. We got along well, but that was about the extent of it, as we were fundamentally incompatible from a financial perspective.
They have a decent track record with me on people I have fun with, but not permanent options. My best luck overall has been with really weird ways of connecting when I wasn’t trying, like forums, wiki communities, IRC, MMORPGs, etc.

I’m married, so no. It was alright when very new, but has gone downhill since (at least as of my last experiences with it). I’d rate it about 1-2 notches above Tinder.
You often find people that you’re most compatible with when you are really not trying to meet them.

My ex was a fairly typical German girl. Very no nonsense, usually easy going but could be a fireball when necessary. Things went really well for about four months, then she started pushing me away and said she couldn’t control it. I finally broke it off after trying to work through it to no avail. Still, the experience was overall positive. I want to date another German girl, but without the commitment issues. Just hard to find them in Virginia.

I used to be on POF for a little while. Prepare to be disappointed when you see them in real life versus their profile pictures.
Also a lot of people who are at least normal, if not interesting, when messaging/texting. Will turn out to be pretty weird in person. Not so much crazy or anything, but it’ll just leave you thinking of all the more entertaining things you could’ve done with your time.

My ex from earlier this year cemented my issue with people being on their phones while on a date or spending time with me. But that started with OKStupid dates and PoS dates. Never really enjoyed any of it and from the sounds of it, prepare for a LOT of um....less than welcoming messages headed to your inbox.

I’ve had a few dates from OKC, three longtime friends (still friends with them too), and met my ex there too.
It’s interesting being on the other side of the fence. As a guy, OKC was horrible. As a girl, it’s actually really fun. I get non-stop messages and have fun with horrible men!

The women I’ve met on OKC have always matched their pictures save for body build...but that’s more of camera magic. Even I look skinnier in my pics.
The guys from OKC range from future sex offender to romantic lawyer...I’m not experienced enough to tell the difference between the two unless they’re obvious.

I used plenty of fish once, because my best friend made me an account. She thought it would be a good idea. I had 57 of those one night stand request things it had 7 years ago. Most of them were from different exgfs “close” friends. I made her delete it within a week.
I meet my wife the old fashion way, at a New Years Eve party on South Beach. One of her friends meet me at a concert I was at while on vacation there. My Afro was mesmerizing as usual. She introduced me to her group of friends, everyone was going to the same party, and they invited me to come. My wife was one of her friends who went. We hit it off pretty well. Now we have two Aussie V8s and two malamute puppies. lol

Yeah, my eyes popped at the 96 likes haha. I didn’t even get half that in all the time I was on there, and I got one or two messages a month that were more than a word or two. I think in all of 2017 I ended up talking with four women from OKC off of it, and my ex was the only one where that lasted more than a week. It sucked.

Oh I know, this is my third time being on there.
1st time: Dating as a guy, got into a stupid relationship because I was desperate and hated myself. 95% of all sent messages are ignored.
2nd time: Dating as a woman, instantly got 50 messages from disgusting men. I got taken advantage of by another guy, then I met Miss Tesla.
3rd time: Still a woman, instantly got 50 offers for meaningless sex...and I’m playing around with them just because I can. But this time I’m smarter and will protect myself.
Dating while trans is even more scary. There’s always the risk that I’m being lured in so they can murder me. That’s part of the reason I have a preference for other trans people.

Tried it twice and Tinder and whatever apps I can’t remember, will never do any online dating or app dating again. As a guy, it’s damn near impossible to actually connect with anyone. I see it as one of two things:
1. An easy way for guys to get sex (if they’re lucky).
2. A self-esteem booster for girls to reassure themselves.
Another problem as I imagine it is that absolutely no one takes it seriously, the ones that do are in the minority (nonexistent), and that most girls will be turned off from all of this entirely once they’ve received a bajillion messages before they’ve even finished their profile. Hell, it’s even easier to be judgemental online than in person. I’d say as a guy, unless you look like whatever 20-30 something guy that girls pine after these days, you’re fucked. If you’re a woman, you have all the men at your fingertips and can pick as you choose within reason.
Hell no, I’m doing this the old-fashioned way: face-to-face (with some help from Facebook).
If it works for you, keep doing it safely though.

and I’ve had some decent hookups off okc/tinder/other sites of that nature but never tried to find a relationship off one. I...I’m great with socializing, but it’s super hard for me to get someone’s phone number/social media account. Like, I have a huge crush on a girl that works the local Kohl’s, but I have no idea how to lead a conversation in that direction without being an awkward nerd.
So, I just resort to online dating, which often makes me feel worse than irl dating. Everyone wants to have sex with me, nobody wants me to be their +1.
