i reckon he should be made to sit for the license from the start again, having to go back to L-plates would be a bigger pain in the arse for him.

Yeah... Looking at the damn straight perfectly flat road... I would probably have tried a top speed run myself too.

A flat stupid straight road which appear to be in the middle of nowhere... I would be speeding too...

you know.... between shit like this and cars getting smarter.... its only a matter of time till your car reads the traffic signs and limits you to 5 or 10 over.....

Maybe, I probably would be too a little but, but even still, if he lost control and ONE car was coming towards or in front of him, he’s going almost double an already fast speed limit on P plates meaning he has relatively limited driving experience...

If he gets a tire puncture at 110kph, and a car comes on the other side, the end result would be the same really... it doesn’t seem like a very populated area, I don’t have much of a problem with that. I can’t stand assholes doing 80kph on 50kph streets surrounded by houses and driveways and so on... THIS is dangerous. Yet I never see cops with radar guns there to catch them. On more technical roads with lots of corners and hard braking points, fine, set a 80 or 90kph speed limit, I get that... People might easily overdo it and crash otherwise. But on straight ass perfectly paved roads?? I bet the speed limit on this road was the same in 1970... 110kph in 1970 was sketchy in many cars lol.... But we’re not there anymore. Any econobox can do 200kph+ safely and Germany is here to prove it...

I’m anything but shocked by this guy and his speeding ticket. Road looked empty and straight as hell. I’m much more pissed by people doing 70kph+ in front of my house while going to work... Because it’s clearly not a road where you can go these speeds without risks....

As for P plates, sure... I know a few kids without a drive license yet who can lap the nurburgring faster than I’ll ever be able to... And I’m not slow around it haha

Another thing too... leading cause of death on french freeway is alcohol... Know what second place is? People falling asleep at the wheel. Then you got safety distances that aren’t respected, generating accidents.... on 4th place you got people driving too fast based on the conditions... (weather, traffic...etc).

Ever tried falling asleep at the wheel doing 230kph on public roads? It won’t happen. There you go, second leading source of death on french freeways eradicated. Yet cops concentrates on speeding, because you know... it’s easy and bring money in.

You do have some good points....maybe I was a bit overzealous. Guess I was just brought up in the sense that ‘a speed limit is a speed limit.’ I, myself speed sometimes, but usually only 105 or 110 in a 100kph zone here as everybody is usually doing 110kph anyway.

Man, when I’m not working, my life is sooo boring you wouldn’T be able to stand it more than a few minutes... at least if you were to come you could teach me how to ride a bike! I know the theory pretty well already! hahaha

Yeah, speed limits is something I have massive problems with... I can’t stand the way they are enforced. 70% of all speeding tickets are given on roads that generates 5% of the total death among drivers, pedestrians...etc. I respect speed limits. In the city, I drive at 50kph or less based on how I feel should really be going... inhabited areas I drive slow, because these roads are dangerous and you can’t afford speeding there. On the freeway, alone, in the middle of the night or if I have lots of visibility in the middle of the day while alone? Yeah I usually get over 200kph a few times a day when I take the freeway. I don’t pass anybody and if I do they are 2 lanes down to make sure I don’t scare them (it’S not Germany and people don’t expect me to drive that fast, so I’m careful...).

Speed limits on freeway in Japan is 100kph. It’s the same one since the 60's... It’s dumb and make no sense... But well, they don’T really enforce speed limits here so I can’t really complain. In France it’s 130kph... and people fall asleep at the wheel because it’s simply not a speed adapted to today’s cars on long straight boring and such safe roads... But as I said... 70% of all speeding tickets on roads that generate 5% of the total death toll among drivers... When looking at it that way, it’s fairly clear why they care about speed limits on long and boring straight roads... it’s not for safety, many studies have already proven that.

I’d say the jammer is more if you get surprise zapped so you can hit the brakes earlier. It would make sense when paired with a long-range radar detector.

Oh you will hate ever having to drive in Atlanta. The speed limit is 70, and you’ll have soccer moms holding a starbucks, on their smart phone, and yelling at their kids will pass you going over 130 in a full size suburban. 135 is the flow of traffic when it isn’t stopped. Miami is the same.

Laser jammers work surprisingly well... You can keep on driving toward the cop, and pass by him without him being able to get a reading of your speed... Really crazy.
