Kinja'd!!!

How does Oppo feel about NASA-themed Legos?

Oh, and disregard the Guinea pig cage in the back.

The one on the left was one of my son’s earlier builds back long ago think it’s still complete in his room. It’s a cool build and pretty sturdy. I like any of them you can actually play with just hate when they build something and it’s all looks.

There’s a new-ish Technic rally car that is kind of cool, but because it’s a 2 in 1 kit, it doesn’t look right.

When I was a kid my oldest sister would get me all kinds of Lego sets for Christmas, many of them were the 1980s space-theme. I’m bummed they don’t make those anymore, except for the 1980s Spaceship kit after the Lego Movie came out.

Hey I was right! Swear he built this back 4 or 5 years ago. Missing the satilites and some other pieces but he legitimately has like 3k in lego sets. Family and his parents spoil him a bit too much. He’s got a bunch built in his closet but I won’t violate his privacy any more than I already am with this:)

I love to build Legos with my Granddaughters. When my son was younger we did some together, probably some simple NASA ones, and then not long after that he built them on his own without me. I need to build up to these NASA ones with the Granddaughters.

Of course when I was young Lego had red blocks and black blocks. There were no special corner or edge pieces, no wheels, no smooth parts, nor lego people. And forget about specialized kits with instructions. Of course we had rotary dial phones then too; that’s come a long a bit since then.

I had some of the Space System sets. Also this one, which IIRC is what I started with.

I think this predates minifigs by a bit. Those are astronauts built out of blocks.
