On my way to pick up a car from Hendrick Dodge in Concord, North Carolina, I saw a caravan of about five, maybe six Chrysler Pacifica vans. All of them had Michigan manufacturer plates save one. It had an Ohio manufacturer plane.

Once again, no SR 20 because driving.

Never heard of that so I did some googling. http://autodealers.ohio.gov/manufacturer.stm Not sure how legit that site is but it has a .gov domain.

Here’s what makes no sense at all. “Manufacturer license plates may be used on any motor vehicle, other than commercial cars, owned by the manufacturer.” WHAT?

It makes sense though. If these were FCA corporate fleet vans i can see that. What was weird to me was that there were half a dozen merging from 485 to 85 north in Concord.

But if it’s owned by the manufacturer doesn’t that make it a commercial vehicle?

I’m sitting in Hendrick dodge in Cary nc waiting for the promaster to be fixed for the 300th time. Would have been funny if you were coming here.

I’ve read bits and pieces of your saga. I drove a Grand Cherokee Laredo in and it seemed the transmission was confused between 20-30 mph in traffic on flat ground. It was hunting gears

I suspect they mean Commercial as in “the driver/company that owns the vehicle is paid to transport cargo within said vehicle” not Commercial meaning it is owned by a company or used in advertisements.

Possibly owned by a wheelchair van conversion company? I’ve seen them traveling in convoys post conversion but i don’t recall what plates they had..
