Kinja'd!!!

I’m sitting in my room playing Assassin’s Creed Origins w/ the Xbone I just got for Xmas. I’m pretty happy to finally have one. I also got a quesadilla maker that I’m equally pumped to use. The bundle also came with Rainbow 6 Siege which I haven’t even tried yet. I think I’d really like to get Forza Horizon 3, but I’d like to hear some opinions.

Rainbow six is great but takes a lot of time to get good at. Horizon 3 is decent but is still not as good as the original. It lasted far longer than Horizon 2 did but the map still doesn’t have enough twisty bits.

I’m impressed by AC:O, but then again, the last AC I really liked was III, and I prefer Unity over Syndicate, so take that as you will.

Horizon 3 is a lot of fun, but more as an off-road romper than for the great driving roads. Blizzard Mountain improves on that and is amazing, the Hot Wheels expansion didn’t really do it for me.

If you’ve got Live Gold check out the deals they’re running right now. I picked up Dirt 4 for $30 and Watchdogs 2 gold for $30. FH3 is decent and I’ve put in more than a few hours on it. Added bonus, the expansion pass for it is like $11 right now instead of $30.

Pro Tips

When doing the campaing/tutorial missions (do as many as you can before jumping into multiplayer) turn off aim assist. You get it in the missions, but not at all in multiplayer.

First operators to buy. After doing all the missions you should have enough money to buy one or two operators.

First should be Sledge (Attacker) He guns are pretty good, but most importantly his sledge hammer allows you to knock out a lot of wall and quietly. This is good as a beginner because you can experiment and learn the map with very little risk. Normal breach charges are loud (sound is VERY important in this game, if you have headphones us them!) and you only get three. So sledge will let you play around with map destruction a lot more than other ops.

You’re first defense op is trickier. I’d recommend Rook, because his ability helps your teammates even if you die 15 seconds into the match. Also he’s a one speed and three armor, which is good for a beginner. Because on defense you’ll probably stay on or near the objective and won’t move around much. It’s all you can really do when you first start, but just keep in mind you’ll want to learn the maps so you can defend off site sooner rather than later. Because staying on the objective the whole match isn’t a very good strategy.

But keep in mind you’re going to learn the maps the most on offense. So don’t worry about having to run all over learning the maps on defense.

The game has quite a steep learning curve, but once you get past it, it’s tons of fun. You have to know a fair chunk of the maps and how everyone’s gadgets work to even get a hang of it, but once you do the game can get addicting. It’s like a puzzle game and shooter combined!

If you want I can give you my gamertag and we can play if you want. Also let me know it you have a headset. I don’t have one now, but I could go pick one up if you want to play.

Just started downloading it a couple minutes ago. Don’t have a headset yet and didn’t really plan on getting one for a little. My tag is GoldenHammpion.
