A manual allroad is still the most enjoyable test drive I’ve ever had (not the stiffest competition, I know). But auto allroads are as common as bad tweets and just as useful.

I agree that the world needs more colored Audi’s (this is from someone that drives a silver A4), but of all video’s that he’s done this is my favorite. I laughed through the whole thing and watched it again immediately. Says a lot about me.

Yeah, Doug is depressingly boring with his color preferences. He got his E63 wagon with that beautiful beige/brown interior and promptly spent an entire video bitching about how he is he’s it was black.

However when I was younger I waned pure black interiors. But now I want more color. Still not into grey tho, especially on leather

Ehhh I’m all for more color and more color options but that green interior is barftastic. Maybe if it were inverted - mainly black with green accents - it wouldn’t be so bad, but that’s pretty objectively ugly, just like most brown cars. Oh and most wagons are pretty ugly too - but at least those have the functional consolidation and are much cooler in my eyes than SUVs (even though modern small SUV design has easily surpassed wagon - and even a lot of hatchback - design... Why the automakers can make SUVs look good but can’t be bothered to try something new with hatch design, I have no idea...)

Back in the ‘80s VW came out with a special edition Scirocco of some sort and I raced down to the dealer to check it out, especially that black leather interior. It was the middle of summer and thus a tad hot outside. I opened the door and was hit with a blast of heat that was physically painful and decided at that point I never want a black interior if it can be avoided (no such luck if I want an ND Miata) and certainly nothing with black leather.

I just watched that video and I would have to agree with you that that’s a nice interior on that E63. What would make it better? More brown, of course. But yeah, to prefer black over that? No. No way.
