“Too much intelligence” might be putting it strongly, because that kind of thinking leads to a superiority complex that’s entirely misplaced. I’d just leave it with “stuck with their own thoughts”.

I miss that damn comic. Last I checked the author was attempting to bribe people into destroying all known copies of it (without full grasp of how the internet works, apparently) and took it rather personally when people shared his (her now?) former works. It was... odd.
