I bought 2 cheap air filters for mockup purposes on a project. This is how one of them showed up.

Not 24hrs after contacting the company, they refunded me the price of both filters plus tax ($25). So I got some brand new cheapo air filters for free. Say what you will about eBay parts but the customer service is usually great.

Tru Dat. I got the wrong wheel bearing from an eBay seller once- after I snapped a pic and showed them that they sent the wrong part, they let me keep it and sent the correct wheel bearing ASAP.

I’ve had similar issues in the past with knock off products, with similar outcome. I assume that they just calculate that some percentage of their products being defective and thus requiring a refund is cheaper than the cost of making sure 100% of their product is quality.

As you say, there is much to be said (good and bad) about ebay parts, but usually the customer service is a simple “yeah, sorry we’re a bit sh*t, here’s a refund”
