About an hour east of my house they get 2-3 times as much snow as I do, and we’ve gotten about 3 feet this month

I disagree. I have a snowboard and two feet. If my car can’t handle it, my feet and snowboard can. Having lived in Minnesota, Wyoming, and Colorado, this isn’t something I’m not familiar with. I love it. Can it be dangerous and a burden for many? Certainly, and that sucks. But it happens, so I’m going to enjoy it when I can, while I still can.
