Any man who can spend a considerable length of time in a car with the owner of this Type R is a true professional, and has the patience of a nun.
Worst is the beginning. Mr. Regular asks him to remove his cameras, so the owner just slides them over. It gets awkward from there.
When people imagine negative characteristics of a Type R owner, they probably picture this guy.

Yeah, that guy was pretty insufferable. On the other hand, Mr. R perpetuated the myth that the Type R is as problematic to own as the RS.

I think Mr. R saw a chance to do a video on a hot-hot car, but didn’t find out until it was too far in game that the owner was going to be a tool.

While it isn’t a competition, gear grinding and overheating on any brand new car is pretty piss poor, especially for a honda. I think that’s what he expresses shock at - Honda not getting the gearbox right? That’s......really unlike honda.
Again - it isn’t a competition. It’s the fact that both cars have some glaring, inexcusable faults. The FoRS’s fault kills the engine and it is likely that the gear grind or overheating issues could kill the type R’s critical components in short order too.

Sadly, gear grinding isn’t a new thing for Honda, but at least the old Hondas waited to age until their gears would do that.
(Also, I’m on the record as not wanting either the Type R or the RS, although for very different reasons. The RS is far too uncomfortable for me, and if I owned the CTR I could kiss my dating life goodbye forever.)

I don’t fit in an RS unless you can get it without the recaros. I get that the seats should be supportive but also, I plain don’t fit.

I’m on the shorter side (5’7”) so height wasn’t the issue with the seats, but rather I was a bit too wide for them, and I’m not even fat. The suspension was also bone-crushing. I could live with it if it was a dedicated track car, but that’s not realistic.

It’s nothing about my height at 6'1" but they crush me and I’m not fat either. I couldn’t live with one at all. Couldn’t live with a Fiesta either because I had to put the seat all the way back, making the back seat useless.

Oh my god, I cheked out the civic owner’s “channel”. I saw the video he posted of Mr. Regular and the comments are hilarious because none of them realize what he does. All of them are either “Eeeeehhhhh, He’s a MILLENIAL and not a real car guy!” (Mr. Regular responded that he is actually Gen. X and I will add that he is more of a car guy than someone who watches clickbait car videos and proclaims them to be the pinnacle of “car guy videos”) or “Oooooohhhhh, I’ll have to check out some of his reviews!”
