Cause WTF is with the cops? Just finished a road trip from Wisconsin to Florida and saw more cops with their radars out and people pulled over than the rest of the states combined. By a large margin too.

GSP is more intimidating because their cars look cool.
Also I’m 99.9% sure South Carolina Troopers don’t exist. I shot through South Carolina on my way down to GA going a solid 95 and didn’t see a single one. Oh, and that was the speed of traffic so everybody was doing it.

They exist on 95 in flocks on certain days, and on 20 in Kershaw County, but other than that... They do patrol the middle of nowhere though, I’ve been pulled over for a bullshit speed before. I was “clocked” at 71 in a 60. I was doing a GPS and Speedometer stated 64 down a hill, which is exactly what I told the trooper. To my surprise he backed the fuck down. 2/3 being a smart ass and getting away with nothing(the first time the officer literally profiled me and pulled me over because I looked suspicious.)

I live in GA. I haven’t ever got a ticket on a GA interstate. I’ve certainly given them plenty of opportunity.
They do occasionally have focused events where they will stake out some spots on the interstates and try and get all of us idiots to slow down. But googling the obvious words didn’t result in any current news reports on that.

Gotta get that revenue. They set up speed traps on the main interstates on big travel times. Most towns in South Georgia only exist because of ticket revenue for people going to Florida.

I don’t think we went more than 20 miles between seeing cops. Also Atlanta fucking sucks, we didn’t even approach the downtown area and hit the area outside of “normal” rush hour, it still slowed our trip by at least 30min

I’ve seen this in NJ at particular times of the year. Generally its with the local cops, stateys seem to be pretty consistent with their application of enforcement. I have driven through towns that I very rarely will see a cop and then all of a sudden one day I see 1-2 cars camped out every mile or so, at least 3 or 4 cars pulled over along the way, and more patrolling. It seems they like to have “enforcement parties” or a “show of force” every once in a while.

What can I say, Sampsonite24? Just not enough good donut shops along the route and the few Dunkin Donuts aren’t always close enough to an interstate exit.
