I picked up a 1993 Camaro Z/28. It needs a paintjob and some minor bits but is a much more agreeable car than the Eldo. Pictures coming sometime because, as of right now, it’s parked a bit away for of course they don’t plow my street.

Nope. It’s as basic as you could get - cloth interior, manual windows and locks, no nannies. Rear upped to 4.10 but it’s a pegleg :(

Oh nice! I hadn’t seen an update pop up in my news feed. I still miss mine some days, and I would be really curious to see how that one-year T56 gearing feels. The first was already super short, so with 4.10s I’ll bet it’s hard to hold traction!

With our cold and wet roads it was not easy to keep straight. Part of me wants to swap for 3.73s at the least. Also the speedo is SO OFF. It was reading 90 when the wife sez I was doing about 62.

Haha, sounds like it definitely was a 2.73 rear car originally! (You can check the RPO codes to verify, but the math checks out.) In 93 the manual had the same 2.73 or 3.23 rear end options as the automatic, but 94+ the manuals went to a 3.42 rear and different T56 gearing, too.
(2.73/4.10) * 90 = 59.9mph and that’s crazy that the speedo gear was never updated.
Also, that means your first gear has 13.8 total torque multiplication, whereas my 04 GTO is just 10.3.
And assuming the factory 5800rpm redline is observed:
That is the lowest gear-limited top speed I’ve seen for a T56 car. I do like the closeness of all the gears, though. Shame that they didn’t keep something like that after 93.

If it really doesn’t have any kind of lsd now, that would be a surprising (and dumb) move on the po’s part. Maybe it’s just worn out?
And that changes your 1-3 a little bit, being a 3.23 car vs 2.73 originally. If it says M28 or M29, that would double guarantee.

Definitely the second chart I sent, then. That doesn’t give you the crazy short 1st gear, but you’ve noticed you don’t need it that short. It does have closer spaced gears overall, which should be more fun.
