hard to believe that dull griefbox was turned into these:

(yes, I know that Mustang is officially called “SN95,” but there was still plenty of Fox in it. just heavily re-worked.)

Love that bolt-on third brake light. That thing is in remarkably good shape.

when the CHMSL became mandatory in 1986, a surprising number of people retrofit them onto their older cars. the Fox Granada was only made for two years, so good bet the original owner put it on.

though most of them just tied into a tail light circuit, so they tended to flash if you had the turn signal on.

It would be fun to drop in a feisty V8, but does Ford have any of those?

Probably a good thing that it’s rarely seen.

Yes, remarkably. I wouldn’t mind taking it for a drive.

in what, the Granada? sure! just go to Ford Racing Parts or Summit and build/buy a fuel-injected stroker Windsor. will fit in any Fox and tear things up. just make sure it doesn’ t have a 7.5" rear end or you’ll blow it up in short order.

Fairmont spotted in Chicago recently. I remember most of them looking like this in the 80s when I was a kid.

I owned a Fairmont station wagon for a while that was super base model with a straight-six and a manual transmission.
